What Spanish cities are cool for a winter trip?
If you don’t like winter, snow or cold temperatures, we have for you an ideal destination loved by thousands of tourists – and this is Spain!!! It is a great destination for a city break or a longer trip. There is no heat, there are fewer tourists, and the weather in many regions is still favorable for walks and sightseeing. In addition, there is a local climate or good food. And this is a list of several Spanish cities that really work well for a winter trip.
Seville
Seville is a great choice for a winter trip. Temperatures are often pleasant, sometimes even about 20 degrees, so you can walk around the city calmly. Throughout the year, the city offers visitors walks in Santa Cruz, Alcázar, Plaza de España or tapas trips, which always taste the same good here in winter or summer 😉 There are fewer tourists here in winter, so Seville seems more authentic and calmer.
Malaga
Malaga is the perfect combination of city and sea. In winter, we can still walk along the promenade, drink coffee in the sun and explore without crowds or choose a walk on the beach. The old town, Alcazaba, museums and good restaurants make it impossible to be bored here. It’s a great direction if you want some sun and ease in Andalusian style.
Barcelona
In winter, Barcelona slows down. There is no summer crowd, accommodation prices are lower, and the city still offers everything it is famous for: Gaudí’s architecture, walks around El Born, tapas bars and seaside atmosphere. It is a good choice for those who want to explore actively but in peace 😉
Valencia
Valencia is underestimated in winter, and it is a pity. It is a good place for sightseeing on foot, without any haste or crowd, and attractions such as the City of Arts and Sciences or Turia Park are impressive regardless of the season. This is a good option if you want to combine sightseeing with relaxation and a calm atmosphere.
Madrid
Although the capital of Spain may be cooler in winter, it has its own unique atmosphere. Museums, pubs, food fairs and wine evenings make it a great destination for lovers of culture and urban life. Christmas decorations and winter sales are an additional advantage.
Palma de Mallorca
Or maybe a short city break on the island??? Winter in Mallorca is certainly not the time for sunbathing, but the perfect time to discover Palma. There are no crowds of tourists so the city is more pleasant for walks. The cathedral, the old town, cafes and sea views make it a very nice direction for a few days.
Why is Spain a good idea for a winter holiday?
· no heat and smaller crowds,
· lower prices for accommodation and flights,
· ideal conditions for sightseeing on foot,
· Great cuisine and urban atmosphere all year round.
If you dream of a winter holiday without jackets and snow, Spanish cities are the perfect choice. Each of them offers something different, but they all have one thing in common – in winter you can visit them just more pleasantly.
